I wrote "Anywhere But Here" with a frog in my throat an hour before I had to be at my day job. I was coming down with a cold, feeling hopelessly behind in my music dreams, and knowing it was too late to call off work without risking a write up--especially since it was a holiday. So, I sat down, vented it all into this song, then left the house. Over a year later, I finally got to bring it fully to life alongside "The Treadmill". It was a blast in the studio and, hopefully, a blast for the you as well. P.S. there is a frog somewhere in there. See if you can find it.

"The Treadmill" converts frustration around feeling stuck in life into a short, but sweet synth-pop track. Everything from the minimalistic chord progression to the chorus that builds only to strip back to a repeated piano note captures the feeling of working hard, but never seeming to make any progress. It was inspired by my experiences balancing my music career dreams with a part-time restaurant job in the context of the 2026 economy; its frank lyrics will surely resonate with other burnt-out yet hopeful dreamers.

Dramatic, cathartic, hyperbolic yet conversational, “Calm Before The Storm” is the entry to a new era for Bethany Paige Campbell. First written in a stream of her consciousness in her bedroom, the song was reinvented in the studio as dramatic synth-pop with orchestral swells and thunderous choruses. “Calm Before The Storm” is the space for the listener to feel life’s big feelings without the need to intellectualize.
